Maintenance Technician – FMCG Food Processing

About the role

This position is for a Maintenance Technician (also referred to as a Maintenance Engineer) within a high‑performing FMCG manufacturing environment, focused on food processing such as meat or fish production. The successful candidate will ensure plant equipment runs efficiently and reliably through both proactive and reactive maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine inspections and execute preventative maintenance on plant machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose faults and perform repairs across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventative maintenance schedules.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with production teams to minimise downtime.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis on equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
• Liaise with external contractors and service providers for specialised work.
• Ensure all activities comply with health, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Support training and development of junior maintenance personnel.
• Utilise the site CMMS system to manage work orders and planning.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a maintenance role within a manufacturing processing environment, preferably FMCG.
• Strong technical expertise in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Demonstrated ability in fault finding, troubleshooting, and equipment repair.
• Familiarity with CMMS systems and maintenance planning tools.
• Excellent problem‑solving attitude and proactive approach.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
