Manager – Global Statutory Audit

About the role

Grant Thornton is seeking a Manager for its Global Statutory Audit team. You will lead audit engagements for multinational clients, coordinating Irish, UK and international audits while ensuring high‑quality delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of Global Statutory Audit clients across Ireland, the UK and overseas.
• Oversee audit work performed by assistant managers and senior staff.
• Lead planning and closing meetings with clients and discuss business developments.
• Review audit work papers and provide guidance on complex or specialised issues.
• Allocate tasks, plan jobs, identify training needs and manage staff resources.
• On‑site manage and assist with technically demanding sections such as Share‑Based Compensation and Revenue Recognition.
• Supervise and train junior audit staff to maintain firm standards.
• Build strong client relationships and identify opportunities for value‑added services.
• Participate in preparing and presenting proposals to clients.

Required profile

• Proven experience in statutory audit of large multinational organisations.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop audit teams.
• Excellent client‑facing abilities and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and allocate resources effectively.
• Professional qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CPA) preferred.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of audit methodology and standards.
• Expertise in complex audit areas such as Share‑Based Compensation.
• Experience with Revenue Recognition audit procedures.
• Ability to review and critique audit work papers.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
