Manufacturing Engineer II

About the role

Merit Medical is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II to join its growing engineering team in Galway. The role involves designing, manufacturing and operating structures, machines and systems for innovative medical devices, working under broad supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques, adapting them where necessary.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and mistake‑proofing.
• Investigate technical variables and complete assignments with clear objectives.
• Develop prototypes, write Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and support special projects.
• Supervise junior engineers or technicians as required.
• Apply IQ/OQ/PQ protocols and contribute to validation activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum three years of relevant engineering experience.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective interpersonal and organizational skills.

Required skills

• Experience with IQ/OQ/PQ validation processes.
• Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Proficiency in computer applications such as spreadsheets, word processing and database software.
