On-site Shipping Specialist (Export)

About the role

The On-site Shipping Specialist will join DHL Global Forwarding's export shipping team at the Leixlip facility. Working directly on the customer’s premises, the role focuses on ensuring compliant, timely export movements while maintaining strong customer relationships and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Process all customer and DHL shipments exported from the site, ensuring full GTT and revenue compliance.
• Maintain and produce required reports for the customer and DHL management.
• Arrange trucking, X‑site collections, and coordinate with contracted carriers to meet strict TPT requirements.
• Manage repair, return, and pump collection processes, and oversee product flow from export to proof of delivery.
• Support early‑start shifts, lean initiatives, cost‑saving projects, and safety programs including Good Catch and dock safety meetings.
• Prepare Export SADS, process invoices, and handle local and trade‑show shipments.
• Ensure compliance with international trade legislation, data protection, and DHL Ireland policies (H&S, Quality, Environmental, HR).

Required profile

• Ability to work a 5‑over‑2 shift pattern (06:00‑18:00) with occasional early starts at 05:30.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow customer SLAs, SOPs, and security requirements.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with customers, internal teams, and external partners.
• Capability to handle high‑volume environments and adapt to factory automation shutdowns.
