About the role
This part‑qualified accountant position is with a fast‑growing organisation in Galway. You will join a dynamic finance team supporting day‑to‑day operations while the company prepares for international commercial expansion. The role offers a strong platform for professional development, reporting directly to the Senior Accountant.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee end‑to‑end accounts payable workflow, including invoice verification, coding and timely processing.
- Prepare and execute vendor payment runs and perform routine bank reconciliations.
- Manage external vendor inquiries, resolve discrepancies and maintain positive relationships.
- Process employee expense reimbursements in line with corporate policies.
- Analyse and review the purchase order log to ensure data integrity.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, tax regulations, accounting policies and documentation standards.
- Assist with month‑end and year‑end closing procedures and support the annual external audit.
- Prepare and post standard journal entries, including accruals, pre‑payments and depreciation.
- Assist with statutory returns, local tax filings (e.g., VAT) and statistical reporting.
- Maintain balance‑sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Support international growth initiatives and future ERP implementation projects.
Required profile
- Proven experience in a fast‑paced accounting role, ideally within a scaling business or the medical device/life‑sciences sector.
- Currently pursuing a recognised professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or CPA) with a clear timeline for completion.
