Production Manager

About the role

The Production Manager will lead the manufacturing of high‑quality ductwork and ventilation products, ensuring that output targets, quality standards and safety requirements are consistently met. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will coordinate all production activities and develop the shop‑floor team to drive efficiency and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise and oversee daily, weekly and long‑term production schedules to meet customer demand and project deadlines.
• Ensure efficient workflow across fabrication, assembly, insulation and finishing operations.
• Monitor production outputs, costs, scrap, rework and labour efficiency to achieve KPIs.
• Coordinate with Design, Engineering, Procurement and Logistics for smooth project execution.
• Lead, motivate and develop production supervisors, team leaders and shop‑floor employees.
• Manage staffing levels, shift patterns, overtime and skills coverage.
• Conduct performance reviews, absence management and disciplinary processes as required.
• Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability and continuous improvement.
• Ensure full compliance with health & safety legislation, company policies and risk assessments.
• Support investment in new machinery, automation and tooling.
• Analyse production data and implement improvements to reduce waste and downtime.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Production Manager or Senior Production Supervisor in a manufacturing environment (ductwork, HVAC, sheet metal or steel fabrication).
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, production planning and workflow management.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven setting.
• Solid understanding of health & safety requirements within manufacturing.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
