Registrar in Medicine – July Rotation

About the role

The Hospital is seeking a Registrar in Medicine for a July rotation. The position is based in Ballinasloe and involves delivering acute medical care within a 194‑bed teaching hospital that offers a full range of services, including critical care and emergency medicine.

Key responsibilities

• Provide patient care in the Department of Medicine, covering acute medicine and related specialties.
• Participate in structured weekly teaching sessions on internal medicine topics.
• Engage in MRCP exam preparation and advanced clinical skills training.
• Contribute to monthly inter‑professional simulation‑based education for deteriorating patients.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years post‑internship experience.
• Active registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC).
• Evidence of meeting English language requirements as set out in HSE HR Circular 063/2020.
• Successful Garda Vetting and satisfactory employment references.
