Senior Accountant / Financial Controller (Remote, Dublin)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant / Financial Controller to lead our finance function for a fast‑growing recruitment firm. The position is primarily remote with one day per month in our Dublin office, offering a blend of strategic influence and hands‑on financial management.

Key responsibilities

• Own the finance function end‑to‑end, from month‑end close to year‑end reporting.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting activities.
• Partner with directors on strategy, performance analysis and decision‑making.
• Manage accruals, pre‑payments and contractor finance as a core focus.
• Oversee payroll, commissions and account reconciliations.
• Develop and lead a small finance team of two, coordinating with an established vendor.
• Drive process improvements, efficiencies and automation across finance operations.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CPA) with at least 7 years of accounting experience.
• Proven ownership of month‑end close and production of audited year‑end accounts.
• Strong cash‑flow and working‑capital management skills.
• Ability to work independently in a small team with tight deadlines.
• Fluent English and excellent communication abilities.
• Experience in accruals, pre‑payments, margin analysis, revenue reporting and team leadership.
• Commercial, detail‑focused and hands‑on attitude.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• Experience with accounting/financial reporting systems.
