Senior Accountant – Galway

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Senior Accountant to join a respected independent practice in Galway. You will work with a diverse portfolio of SME, owner‑managed and personal clients, gaining exposure across accounts, tax and audit while contributing to the firm’s growth.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of clients across multiple industries.
• Prepare and review year‑end accounts and financial statements.
• Prepare personal and corporate tax returns.
• Deliver assignments accurately and within agreed deadlines.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Provide day‑to‑day support and advice to clients.
• Review work prepared by junior team members and assist with their training.
• Support advisory and consultancy projects and contribute to business development activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and client service delivery.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent).
• Experience in a general practice/accountancy firm environment.
• Strong knowledge of accounts preparation and Irish taxation.
• Proven ability to manage client relationships independently.
• Excellent organisational and time‑management skills.
