Senior Accountant

About the role

The Senior Accountant will support international accounting close processes, prepare statutory reports for European subsidiaries and assist with related audits. Reporting to the Head of International Finance, the role acts as a business partner and financial analyst, providing insights for budgeting, variance analysis, and tax compliance across multiple European jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations for all international accounts and investigate variances.
• Create and post journal entries in collaboration with the corporate accounting team.
• Support the month‑end close by pulling reports, maintaining documentation, and performing financial analytics on income statements and balance sheets.
• Translate US GAAP, IFRS, and local GAAP rules into actionable guidance for projects and daily operations.
• Assist the Head of Finance with performance analyses, trend identification, risk assessment, and ad‑hoc business case preparation.
• Gather data for international tax filings, including VAT and corporate income tax returns for Irish and UK subsidiaries.
• Support internal and external audit requests and SOX compliance activities.
• Identify accounting and finance risks and recommend mitigation strategies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience in international accounting, statutory reporting, and tax compliance.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Required skills

• Knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and local GAAP.
• Experience with VAT and corporate income tax (CIT) filings.
• Familiarity with SOX compliance requirements.
• Financial analysis and reporting proficiency.
• Journal entry preparation and balance‑sheet reconciliation.
