Senior Manager, Advocacy Communications

About the role

This senior‑level position is based in Ireland and offers a strategic communications opportunity for an experienced professional passionate about public‑interest advocacy, digital policy and global engagement. You will shape and amplify advocacy narratives that influence policy discussions, public discourse and stakeholder engagement across multiple regions and governance systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and support advocacy communication strategies and campaigns aligned with organisational priorities and global public‑interest initiatives.
• Create clear, persuasive, audience‑focused narratives that translate complex policy and technical topics into accessible messaging.
• Ensure consistency and effectiveness of advocacy communications across regions, cultures, languages and governance environments.
• Collaborate with internal teams to tailor communication approaches for policymakers, regulators, civil‑society organisations, media, academia and other key audiences.
• Support media engagement by preparing messaging frameworks, briefing materials, talking points and spokesperson guidance.
• Identify proactive media outreach, thought‑leadership and commentary placement opportunities.
• Contribute to rapid‑response communication activities related to policy, regulatory or governance developments.
• Develop and maintain communication resources such as campaign toolkits, message frameworks and response materials.

Required profile

• 7‑10 years of experience in advocacy communications, strategic communications, public affairs or related fields.
• Proven experience communicating with advocacy audiences including policymakers, regulators, civil‑society organisations, think tanks, media and academic communities.
• Strong background in public‑interest initiatives, digital policy, technology policy or Internet governance.
