Senior Pharmacist – Permanent (NDTC0126)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Pharmacist to join the National Drug Treatment Centre within the HSE Dublin and South East region. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality pharmacy services to marginalised communities, ensuring safe, effective and cost‑efficient use of medicines while leading a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive pharmacy services to patients in the National Drug Treatment Centre, with particular attention to marginalised groups.
• Promote safe, effective and cost‑effective medication use, including medication reviews and therapeutic monitoring.
• Lead, mentor and manage a team of pharmacy staff, overseeing daily operations and professional development.
• Develop and implement pharmacy policies, procedures and best‑practice guidelines.
• Collaborate with clinicians, nurses and allied health professionals to optimise patient outcomes.
• Monitor and report on pharmacy performance metrics and compliance with regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Registered pharmacist with a senior‑level qualification and extensive experience in community or drug‑treatment settings.
• Demonstrated experience working with marginalised or vulnerable populations.
• Proven track record in managing and developing pharmacy teams.
• Strong understanding of medication safety, efficacy and cost‑effectiveness.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
