Systems Engineer – Amazon Foundational Security Services

About the role

Amazon Security is looking for a motivated Systems Engineer to help raise the security bar across Amazon’s cloud and retail services. You will work on Amazon Foundational Security Services, delivering industry‑leading security capabilities while supporting a 24/7/365 operation.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and improve security services for Amazon EC2, S3 and other core offerings.
• Participate in an on‑call rotation (approximately once every 4–6 weeks) to maintain operational excellence.
• Collaborate with software development teams to design and implement access control, identity security, authentication and authorization solutions.
• Investigate and resolve security incidents, ensuring secure‑by‑default configurations.
• Contribute to the development of new access‑control design patterns and lifecycle management processes.

Required profile

• EU citizenship with the ability to relocate within the European Union.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset and passion for innovative security solutions.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused environment.

Required skills

• Experience with Amazon EC2 and Amazon S3.
• Knowledge of access control, authentication, authorization, and identity security concepts.
• Familiarity with lifecycle management of security services.
