Tax Accountant

About the role

Our client, a well‑known Irish public limited company, is seeking a Tax Accountant to join its Finance team in Kildare. The role works closely with the Tax Manager and the wider Finance function, offering exposure to all business areas and strong career progression in a growing organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Support tax reporting for half‑year and year‑end financial audits.
• Assist in preparing tax compliance for Corporation Tax, RCT and VAT.
• Identify and resolve tax technical issues, providing detailed technical analysis.
• Interpret changes in tax policy and assess their impact on the business.
• Build relationships with business units to communicate legislative changes promptly.
• Provide ad‑hoc tax consultancy for teams (e.g., investments) on VAT, Corporation Tax, Stamp Duty, RCT and payroll taxes.
• Identify efficiencies and drive process improvements.
• Review controls and compliance procedures on a regular basis.

Required profile

• Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA) qualification.
• Professional accounting qualification (ACA or ACCA).
• Experience in the construction industry (preferred).
• Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics NAV and Solver (advantage).
• Experience with tax technology and automation (desirable).
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and meet strict deadlines.
• Self‑motivated, solution‑driven and detail‑oriented.
