Technical Operations Manager

About the role

StepStone Group is looking for a Technical Operations Manager to drive the maturity and performance of its technology portfolio. You will be the engine behind better planning, cleaner processes, and smarter ways of working, ensuring technology delivers maximum value to the business.

Key responsibilities

• Own technology portfolio operations, taking end‑to‑end accountability for systems and processes and continuously raising their maturity and business value.
• Support quarterly and annual technology planning cycles, aligning initiatives with product and technology strategy while managing capacity, priorities and dependencies.
• Proactively identify, monitor and resolve risks and cross‑team dependencies that could impact delivery across engineering portfolios.
• Produce management reporting on portfolio health, system performance and delivery metrics to enable data‑driven decision‑making.
• Continuously assess and evolve operational processes, improving efficiency, reducing technical debt and fostering a culture of measurable, iterative improvement.

Required profile

• Solid background in technology portfolio or operations management within a fast‑paced product and tech environment.
• Deep understanding of software delivery and product development lifecycles, able to engage credibly with engineering and product teams.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills, translating complex operational data into concise insights for senior stakeholders.
• Effective influencer and cross‑functional collaborator with excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Experience with delivery tools and planning practices; familiarity with SAFe or similar scaled agile frameworks is a plus.
