Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

About the role

The Chief Executive Officer will lead UCD Professional Academy, a wholly owned subsidiary of University College Dublin, reporting directly to the President of UCD or her nominee and the Board of Directors. The role is responsible for setting strategic direction, ensuring operational excellence, and delivering sustainable, profitable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the five‑year strategic plan, aligning with the Academy’s mission and market opportunities.
• Oversee financial performance, budgeting, and fiscal discipline to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
• Drive corporate growth by expanding corporate and subscription business lines.
• Lead product innovation across business, technology, marketing, finance, data analytics, and cybersecurity programmes.
• Build and enhance commercial infrastructure and data capabilities required for scaling.
• Foster a culture of ambition, accountability, care, and uphold the UCD brand reputation.

Required profile

• Proven senior executive experience with a strong commercial mindset.
• Strategic vision and ability to lead large, complex organisations.
• Demonstrated people‑leadership skills and capability to inspire high‑performing teams.
• Experience in education, professional development, or related sectors is advantageous.
