Customer Care Representative

About the role

We are hiring Customer Care Representatives for our Waterford Customer Engagement Centre. Starting at €14.68 per hour (95 % of the established rate) and rising to €15.45 after six months, the role is the first point of contact for Tesco customers, delivering solutions with empathy and problem‑solving skills. Flexibility in daily start and finish times is required.

Key responsibilities

• Own customer issues from start to resolution, applying the “Every Little Help Makes a Big Difference” approach.
• Model Tesco values and act with integrity in every interaction.
• Monitor personal performance metrics and achieve set objectives.
• Collaborate with Team Leaders, Operations Managers and cross‑departmental teams to resolve queries.
• Identify and raise process‑improvement opportunities.
• Adhere to all Tesco policies, including attendance, schedule adherence and health‑and‑safety guidelines.
• Share knowledge with peers to foster a collaborative environment.

Required profile

• Strong customer‑service orientation and passion for helping people.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Confidence handling complaints with empathy, patience and sound judgement.
• Adaptable and flexible in a fast‑changing environment.
• Responsible, reliable and solutions‑focused.
• Knowledge of customer‑service principles and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• High IT literacy and quick learning of new systems.
