Data Analyst & Power BI Developer (6‑Month Contract)

About the role

Our client, a leading financial services organisation, is looking for an experienced Data Analyst/Power BI Developer to join a six‑month contract (with the possibility of extension). The role will focus on building and enhancing enterprise reporting and analytics solutions on a modern cloud‑based data platform.

Key responsibilities

• Gather and translate business requirements into clear reporting and data specifications.
• Analyse, validate and reconcile datasets in a cloud‑based data warehouse using SQL.
• Design, develop and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Enhance data models, semantic layers and reporting calculations to support self‑service analytics.
• Participate in system integration testing and user acceptance testing, including defect resolution.
• Investigate and resolve day‑to‑day data and reporting issues with technical and business teams.
• Support data governance and data‑quality initiatives through controls, reconciliations and validation.
• Produce and maintain documentation such as report specifications, testing evidence and user support materials.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Data Analyst, BI Analyst or Reporting Analyst.
• Third‑level degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics or a related field.
• Experience working in regulated or data‑intensive environments, preferably financial services.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and organisational abilities.

Required skills

• SQL for complex data analysis and validation.
• Power BI for report and dashboard development.
• Experience with cloud‑based data platforms such as Snowflake.
• DAX calculations and semantic modelling within Power BI.
• Data modelling concepts and reporting best practices.
• Understanding of data governance and data‑quality frameworks.
