Equipment Engineer – Maintenance & Reliability

About the role

We are seeking an Equipment Engineer to manage and continuously improve the maintenance of all internal equipment in our Galway‑based company. You will ensure reliability, efficiency and safety while supporting operational goals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and oversee comprehensive maintenance programmes to minimise downtime and maximise asset lifespan.
• Lead troubleshooting, repairs, upgrades and support installations to maintain high equipment standards.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues, generate reports and conduct root‑cause analyses and process improvements.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure industry‑leading safety and compliance.

Required profile

• 3+ years’ experience in equipment maintenance management, preferably in the medical device sector.
• Level 8 Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field.
• Strong experience with equipment troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
• Excellent communication, teamwork and problem‑solving abilities.

• CMMS / maintenance management software proficiency
