Financial Controller – Senior Finance Leadership Role

About the role

We are seeking a senior Financial Controller to join the senior leadership team of a retail organisation. This hands‑on position will lead a complete overhaul of the company’s financial procedures, including system review and migration to a new ERP.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement robust financial processes and controls.
• Prepare annual budgets and conduct financial planning & analysis aligned with strategic plans for all entities.
• Deliver monthly management accounts with analysis and commentary for the management team and board.
• Manage debtors and creditors, ensure tax compliance, and oversee the preparation of financial statements and audit processes.
• Review existing systems and implement a new ERP to meet business requirements.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA) with hands‑on experience in an SME environment.
• Relevant experience in a retail or stock‑related business is advantageous.
• Proficient IT skills in Microsoft Office and financial reporting systems.
