Founding Engineer

About the role

Positive Carbon is looking for its first in‑house engineer to take ownership of a platform that uses AI and computer‑vision to measure food waste in commercial kitchens. This founding role will shape the product, technical direction, and engineering culture while working directly with the founder.

Key responsibilities

• Transition the existing platform from an external development partner to an internal engineering team.
• Define and implement the overall architecture, tooling, and development processes.
• Lead the design and implementation of AI‑driven computer‑vision components for waste detection.
• Collaborate with product and business teams to translate waste‑reduction goals into technical solutions.
• Establish engineering best practices and foster a high‑performance culture.

Required profile

• Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for sustainability and climate impact.
• Ability to make autonomous decisions on architecture and tooling.
• Comfort working in a small, fast‑moving startup environment.
• Direct communication line with the founder and willingness to take ownership of the product roadmap.
