General Operative – Workshop Support

About the role

We are seeking a motivated General Operative to join our busy workshop on a full‑time basis. You will support the overhaul and maintenance of electromechanical equipment, working alongside experienced engineers in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with the overhaul of motors, gearboxes, pumps and related machinery.
• Prepare components for painting and ensure proper loading and unloading of goods.
• Maintain accurate internal records for each job performed.
• Support senior staff on larger work items and adhere to set time‑frames.
• Comply with health & safety regulations and wear appropriate PPE.
• Perform ad‑hoc duties as required.

Required profile

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to take initiative.
• Experience with mechanical machinery is desirable but not mandatory.
• Background in a garage or similar hands‑on environment is a plus.
