Indirect Tax Manager

About the role

Dunnes Stores is establishing a Tax Centre of Excellence to support business growth and meet evolving digital tax legislation. Reporting to the Head of Tax, the Indirect Tax Manager will act as a trusted advisor across the retail business, guiding tax automation, governance, and compliance initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full indirect tax compliance lifecycle for the Dunnes Stores group, ensuring accurate and timely filing of returns, reports, and payments.
• Serve as the indirect tax subject‑matter expert on major projects, including new regulatory and e‑legislation initiatives.
• Monitor international legislative changes and assess their impact on the business.
• Provide technical tax support for day‑to‑day activities, data accuracy reviews, and partnership building.
• Develop and maintain tax data‑governance procedures and documentation for tax governance compliance.
• Drive continuous improvement by defining requirements for automation and digital reporting.
• Create leadership reporting and key metrics to enhance efficiency and strategic value.
• Oversee ESG‑related tax reporting and collaborate with sustainability teams.
• Support ITX registrations, certifications, and VAT registration thresholds globally.

Required profile

• Strong background in indirect tax, particularly VAT, within a multinational retail environment.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply evolving tax legislation across jurisdictions.
• Experience in tax compliance, reporting, and governance frameworks.
• Proven track record of collaborating with finance, legal, and technology teams.
• Analytical mindset with a focus on process optimisation and digital transformation.
