Accountant – Finance Team (Dublin)

About the role

Canada Life Assurance Europe plc is seeking an experienced Accountant to join its Finance team in Dublin. You will work alongside a multi‑disciplined group of accountants, supporting the company’s control and reporting requirements while helping to integrate new technology into the finance agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver accurate and timely financial, regulatory, and management reporting.
• Maintain and evolve a strong financial control environment, ensuring compliance with ICOFR, regulatory standards, and internal policies.
• Provide clear financial analysis and variance reporting to support business performance and decision‑making.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes aligned with strategic and operational objectives.
• Drive process efficiencies by supporting the implementation of new financial systems, automation, and AI tools.
• Assist with expense updates, control account reconciliations, and integration of the administration platform with financial systems.
• Act as a subject‑matter expert for finance on local and global projects.

Required profile

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to analyse results, produce insights, and present findings that influence resource allocation.
• Proficiency with digital and analytics tools used in finance.
• Experience working in a regulated insurance or financial services environment is advantageous.

Required skills

• SAP – Ledger and Expense modules.
• Oracle finance applications.
