Internal Auditor

About the role

The Internal Auditor will support the Internal Audit Manager in delivering risk‑based assurance across the organisation. The role focuses on evaluating the effectiveness of risk management, internal controls, and governance processes while identifying opportunities for improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Recommend practical, cost‑effective actions to enhance risk management and internal control environments.
• Evaluate fraud risk, monitor previously reported issues, and ensure corrective actions are taken.
• Assist in preparing Audit Committee packs and stay current with relevant legislation, standards, and governance rules.
• Develop detailed test plans, perform control testing, and draft audit reports.
• Map business processes, present findings to local management, and maintain communication with senior audit leadership.
• Provide recommendations to strengthen controls and support the audit issue‑closure process.
• Conduct ad‑hoc investigations and special projects as directed.

Required profile

• Professional qualification in progress or obtained (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CIIA).
• Experience executing risk‑based assurance work and managing stakeholder relationships.
• Strong academic background with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Understanding of internal control, risk management, and governance concepts.
• Knowledge of financial services is desirable but not essential.
