Internal Communications & Sustainability Lead

About the role

The Internal Communications & Sustainability Lead shapes how colleagues experience the brand internally and reinforces the firm’s sustainability credentials externally. Reporting to the CMO, the role combines firm‑wide internal communications management with delivery of the Sustainable Business programme.

Key responsibilities

• Manage internal communications across the intranet, internal mail, app and digital boards.
• Develop and maintain the internal communications calendar, covering major campaigns and ongoing channels.
• Plan, write and edit announcements, campaign narratives, leadership messages and feature articles.
• Maintain the intranet homepage and BD&M page, ensuring content is current and engaging.
• Coordinate with HR and the CMO to keep messaging consistent and on‑brand.
• Track engagement metrics and refine content strategy based on insights.
• Lead the Sustainable Business programme, delivering the 2026 plan and shaping the 2027 roadmap.
• Design and implement firm‑wide initiatives on diversity, equity, inclusion, wellbeing, environment, community engagement and pro‑bono work.
• Support governance structures such as the Sustainable Business Steering Group and senior sponsors.
• Manage external partnerships with charities, accreditation bodies and industry organisations.
• Monitor, gather data and report on sustainability commitments and accreditations.
• Drive employee engagement with sustainability campaigns, events and volunteering opportunities.

Required profile

• At least four years of experience in an internal communications role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
• Confident editorial instinct and ability to craft clear, engaging content.
• Proven experience designing and delivering internal initiatives and campaigns that support business objectives and boost employee engagement.
