IT Systems Administrator – Public Sector (Hybrid, Dublin)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced IT Systems Administrator to join a public sector organisation with a national footprint. The role is based in Dublin City Centre, with the flexibility to work remotely across Ireland and attend the office one day per week.

Key responsibilities

• Manage multiple Microsoft 365 tenants, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Teams, Intune, Power Platform and Power BI.
• Supervise on‑premise Active Directory/ADFS, Group Policy, Azure AD (Entra ID), Exchange and SharePoint environments.
• Develop automation using PowerShell, Power Platform, Logic Apps and AI to streamline processes.
• Oversee device management and onboarding via Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune).
• Provide Level 3 technical support for critical applications and act as an escalation point for the ICT Service Desk.
• Maintain logs, alerts and daily operational processes, and support knowledge sharing across teams.
• Lead solution implementations, migrations and service‑delivery improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Relevant third‑level qualification (desirable).
• 5–10 years of experience in backend systems operations, IT infrastructure and operational support.
• Advanced certifications in Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Active Directory or related technologies (highly desirable).
• Excellent communication, report writing, organisational and interpersonal skills.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management and the ability to embrace change.
