Mechanical Project Manager

About the role

An established mechanical engineering contractor in Dublin is looking for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager. You will lead commercial, industrial and pharmaceutical projects from pre‑construction through handover, ensuring safety, quality and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage mechanical projects from inception to completion and handover.
• Develop and maintain detailed project programmes, tracking key milestones.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal teams.
• Oversee procurement of materials, plant and subcontract services.
• Monitor financial performance, including cost control, forecasting and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and company procedures.
• Manage site teams, providing leadership and support.
• Conduct project meetings and prepare progress reports for stakeholders.
• Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Manage commissioning, documentation and client training during handover.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 + years experience as a Mechanical Project Manager.
• Strong background in building services within commercial, industrial or pharmaceutical environments.
• Proven track record of delivering projects from inception to completion.
• Relevant professional accreditation (e.g., Chartered Engineer) or working towards it.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience with project planning tools such as MS Project.
• Use of reporting systems for project performance.
• Familiarity with BIM and modern construction technologies.
• Knowledge of Irish building regulations and standards.
