Principal Android Engineer

About the role

Amach is looking for a Principal Android Engineer to lead the architecture and development of a large‑scale, customer‑facing mobile app used by airlines worldwide. You will shape mobile strategy, mentor engineers, and drive modern Android best practices across multiple agile squads.

Key responsibilities

• Own and evolve the Android technical vision and architecture.
• Lead cross‑team design decisions, ensuring scalable and maintainable solutions.
• Mentor engineers and raise Android engineering standards.
• Champion modern Android development (Jetpack Compose, modularization, clean architecture).
• Partner with Product and Engineering leaders to balance speed, quality, and business impact.
• Improve app performance, reliability, observability, and release processes.
• Lead resolution of complex production issues and reduce technical debt.

Required profile

• 10+ years of Android development experience.
• 3+ years in a senior technical leadership role.
• Proven track record of architecting, launching, and scaling production apps on Google Play.
• Excellent communicator who can influence technical decisions across teams.
• Strong problem‑solver who connects technical choices to business outcomes.
