Project Manager – Construction

About the role

Our client, a leading construction main contractor operating across Ireland and the UK, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their Cork team. You will own projects from early design through to handover, ensuring delivery on time, within budget and to the required quality.

Key responsibilities

• Keep project programmes on track and work closely with the Contracts Manager on timelines.
• Lead and support the site team, including mentoring junior staff.
• Ensure the right people and resources are in place at the right time.
• Drive a strong health & safety culture across the project.
• Monitor quality to ensure everything meets specifications.
• Manage costs and collaborate with the commercial team to stay on budget.
• Build solid relationships with clients and keep them updated on progress, risks, or delays.

Required profile

• A degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
• Approximately 5+ years’ experience managing construction projects (new builds and/or fit‑outs).
• Experience in Design & Build projects is a plus.
• Proven ability to plan and deliver complex jobs confidently.
• Strong technical understanding with good reporting and numerical skills.
• Effective communicator able to engage a range of stakeholders.
• Commercially aware and capable of making cost‑effective decisions.
