R&D Tax Manager – Dublin (Hybrid)

About the role

The R&D Tax Manager will lead the delivery of research and development tax credit claims for a diverse client portfolio in Ireland. This hybrid role combines technical execution, project management, and mentorship of junior staff while ensuring compliance with Irish Revenue guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end preparation and submission of R&D tax credit claims, guaranteeing technical and financial accuracy.
• Conduct detailed interviews with client engineers, scientists and developers to identify qualifying activities.
• Oversee calculation of eligible expenditures, including staff costs, consumables, overheads and sub‑contractors.
• Review technical project descriptions and financial schedules prepared by associates and seniors.
• Act as primary client contact throughout the claim process, managing timelines and expectations.
• Support directors in responding to Revenue interventions and queries.
• Provide hands‑on training to junior staff on Irish R&D tax legislation and sector‑specific nuances.
• Manage project budgets, work‑in‑progress and billing to meet commercial targets.
• Identify additional service opportunities such as Knowledge Development Box, IP planning or grant claims.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA and/or CTA qualification.
• 3–5 years of corporate tax experience, with at least 2 years focused on R&D tax credits in the Irish market.
• Science or engineering background is advantageous but not mandatory.
