Senior Android Developer – Onsite in Nenagh

About the role

Expleo is looking for a Senior Android Developer to lead the design and delivery of secure, high‑performance Android applications as part of a broader modernisation programme. The role is fully onsite in Nenagh, Co. Tipperary and involves close collaboration with QA, product and programme teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Android applications using Java and Kotlin, following modern architectural patterns.
• Integrate apps with external services, SDKs, hardware features, secure storage and networking components.
• Apply secure coding practices and support quality assurance through unit and integration testing.
• Migrate legacy Android codebases to modular, maintainable architectures while ensuring system stability.
• Analyse and optimise performance, including responsiveness, memory usage and startup times.
• Implement logging, monitoring and diagnostic capabilities for production support.
• Contribute to automated build, test and deployment pipelines (CI/CD) and support continuous integration.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, conduct code reviews and mentor less‑experienced developers.

Required profile

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience delivering complex, business‑critical Android applications.
• Strong client‑facing and people‑management skills, with a focus on knowledge sharing and mentoring.
• Excellent teamwork, emotional intelligence and the ability to work in a regulated or security‑conscious environment.
