Senior Associate – Environment & Planning Lawyer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Associate to join the Environment and Planning Unit of our Dispute Resolution Department. The role offers direct client interaction, preparation of complex advice, and involvement in high‑stakes litigation related to planning and environmental matters.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal advice on environment and planning issues for major projects.
• Draft and review complex legal documents, pleadings, and submissions.
• Manage and lead litigation matters, including court appearances and negotiations.
• Collaborate closely with senior partners and multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of regulatory developments and case law.

Required profile

• Strong academic background with a law degree.
• 4‑6 years of post‑qualification experience in environment and planning law.
• Commercially focused with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Resilient, flexible, and able to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Advanced legal drafting and analytical abilities.
• In‑depth knowledge of Irish environmental and planning legislation.
• Experience handling complex litigation and dispute resolution.
