About the role
We are seeking a Senior Associate to join the Funds team of an international law firm in Dublin. The successful candidate will advise clients on the creation, structuring and management of a broad range of investment funds, including private equity, hedge, venture capital and real‑estate vehicles.
Key responsibilities
- Advise on the structuring and establishment of investment funds, recommending optimal legal forms such as limited partnerships and ICAVs.
- Prepare, review and negotiate fund documentation to ensure compliance with investor expectations and market standards.
- Conduct legal research on regulatory frameworks, including AIFMD, MiFID and other European securities laws.
- Assist with applications for regulatory authorisation by the Central Bank of Ireland for AIFMs, fund administrators and related entities.
- Provide legal support for debt‑issuance vehicles and capital‑markets matters.
- Deliver strategic advice on fund governance, fiduciary duties and operational best practices.
- Support fund transactions such as mergers, acquisitions and restructurings, including due‑diligence and post‑transaction integration.
- Collaborate with internal teams, fund managers, investors and regulators while contributing to business development and knowledge sharing.
Required profile
- Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 4 years post‑qualification experience in funds law.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex fund structures and regulatory authorisations.
- Strong client‑facing skills and experience mentoring junior lawyers.
Required skills
- In‑depth knowledge of AIFMD, MiFID and other European securities regulations.
- Experience drafting and negotiating fund documentation.
- Ability to conduct detailed legal research and provide commercial‑focused advice.
