Senior Construction Manager

About the role

Clancy, one of Ireland’s leading construction companies, is seeking a Senior Construction Manager to lead the delivery of residential, commercial and specialised healthcare projects. The role will focus on maintaining a safe worksite, managing subcontractors and ensuring projects are completed on time, to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a safe worksite and manage the safety of direct staff and subcontractors.
• Review plans and drawings, supervise subcontractors and ensure compliance with project specifications.
• Plan and schedule work efficiently to meet strict deadlines.
• Oversee on‑site quality control and implement quality measures.
• Resolve technical issues in consultation with Design Managers.
• Address technical queries and manage RFI processes with clients, consultants and architects.
• Attend and report at client, architect and consultant meetings.
• Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners and quantity surveyors.
• Coordinate quality management and BCAR processes.
• Ensure site energy usage aligns with the company’s Energy Management program.

Required profile

• 10+ years’ experience in healthcare, commercial or residential construction, preferably with a main or specialist contractor.
• In‑depth knowledge of construction industry practices and project execution.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships at all levels.
• Strong interpersonal skills, confident leadership and the ability to mentor and motivate teams.
• Trade background is welcome.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
• Experience using Microsoft Project or a similar scheduling package.
• Knowledge of safety management and quality management processes.
• Understanding of energy management practices on construction sites.
