Structural Designer (Technician)

About the role

Jacobs is expanding its Irish team and is looking for a Structural Designer (Technician) to join a multi‑disciplinary group working on cutting‑edge facilities such as semiconductor plants and data centres. The role offers early‑ to mid‑level designers the chance to develop expertise across a range of structural projects while collaborating with mechanical, civil, architectural and process engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Create and edit 3D structural models using Revit and Navisworks, performing clash detection across multiple disciplines.
• Manage project scope, budget and schedule to meet design goals.
• Lead plant design activities as an area or system leader and coordinate with other designers.
• Ensure compliance with detailing standards for steel, concrete and masonry in line with BS, EN and international codes.
• Produce high‑quality design deliverables using Revit and CAD.
• Conduct field observations, review construction submittals, and update models and documents as required.

Required profile

• National Certificate, Diploma or Ordinary Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (minimum FETAC Level 6/7).
• Self‑motivated with strong communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, changing environment while meeting commitments.
