Senior Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Engineer to join a leading Irish main building contractor working on commercial, residential, educational and healthcare projects across the Dublin area. The role involves overseeing engineering aspects of site works, ensuring design compliance and delivering high‑quality outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Verify the accuracy of calculations, plans, drawings and quantities.
• Manage and interpret contract design documents from clients or architects.
• Collaborate with consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the project workforce.
• Supervise and monitor ground works and civil engineering contractors.
• Resolve unforeseen technical difficulties and address emerging problems.
• Oversee health and safety matters on‑site, including quality management and BCAR coordination.

Required profile

• 3rd level qualification in Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years experience as a Senior Engineer or section manager on building projects.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Engineers Level software.
• Experience using EDM/Total Station equipment.
• Strong AutoCAD skills.
• Competence with GPS surveying tools.
