Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Building Services

About the role

Our client, a design‑led engineering consultancy with a strong presence across Ireland and internationally, is expanding its Cork team. They are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead high‑spec building services projects from concept through to completion.

Key responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design for commercial, residential, healthcare and mixed‑use projects.
• Manage project delivery, ensuring quality, programme and commercial targets are met.
• Mentor and support junior engineers within the team.
• Liaise directly with clients, design teams and stakeholders.
• Oversee design outputs including HVAC, LTHW, public health and BMS systems.
• Ensure full compliance with Irish building regulations and industry standards.

Required profile

• Degree‑qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services.
• Minimum 6 years of consultancy design experience.
• Proven track record delivering full‑cycle mechanical design on commercial and/or residential projects.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
