Senior Pharmacist – National Drug Treatment Centre

About the role

The National Drug Treatment Centre is seeking a Senior Pharmacist to lead pharmacy services for marginalised communities across Dublin and the South East. This permanent, full‑time position reports to the Chief Pharmacist and plays a pivotal role in ensuring safe, effective and cost‑effective use of medicines.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert pharmaceutical care to diverse and vulnerable patient groups.
• Oversee medication safety, efficacy and cost‑effectiveness initiatives.
• Lead, mentor and manage a multidisciplinary pharmacy team.
• Develop and implement clinical guidelines and best‑practice protocols.
• Collaborate with clinicians, social workers and external agencies to optimise treatment outcomes.

Required profile

• Registered pharmacist with extensive experience in community or specialist settings.
• Demonstrated experience working with marginalised or high‑needs populations.
• Proven track record of team leadership and staff development.
• Strong understanding of medication safety and cost‑management principles.
