Senior Project Manager – 6-Month Contract

About the role

Our client, a leading financial services organisation, is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager on a 6‑month contract to lead strategic business change and software delivery initiatives. The role requires a commercially minded professional who can drive outcomes, engage stakeholders and deliver critical technology projects in a regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end delivery of complex business and technology projects, ensuring objectives are met within agreed timelines and budgets.
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to define scope, deliverables, success criteria and implementation plans.
• Manage multiple concurrent initiatives, prioritising work and maintaining delivery focus.
• Monitor progress, identify risks and dependencies, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Serve as primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular updates and ensuring clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
• Drive continuous improvement of project governance, reporting and PMO processes.
• Support release planning, aligning resource capacity with business priorities.
• Facilitate decision‑making and ensure successful adoption of change across the organisation.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Project Manager delivering business and technology change initiatives.
• Previous experience in the financial services sector, preferably within regulated environments.
• Proven track record of delivering software implementation and business transformation projects.
• Experience managing project governance, risk management and stakeholder engagement.
• Strong understanding of project delivery methodologies and best‑practice frameworks.
• Ability to work independently while handling competing priorities in fast‑paced settings.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, Project Management or related field.
• Professional project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, Agile Practitioner, Scrum Master).
