Financial Controller – Senior Role in Cork

About the role

This senior Financial Controller position sits at the heart of a large, prestigious Cork‑based business. Reporting to the CFO and working closely with senior management, you will combine high‑level financial governance with commercial insight to influence strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver monthly and year‑end financial reports, analysing variances and overall results.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to develop best‑in‑class reporting and strengthen the control environment.
• Provide regular commercial reporting to executive management, delivering accurate and timely insights for strategic planning.
• Take ownership of the budgeting and forecasting process, coordinating inputs across the business.
• Manage balance‑sheet health and working‑capital optimisation.
• Oversee the preparation of statutory accounts and coordinate external audit activities.
• Execute ad‑hoc projects and duties to support the evolving needs of the organisation.

Required profile

• Professional Accountancy qualification with at least 5 years post‑qualification experience.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Highly organised, able to prioritise workload and follow through on tasks.
• Positive attitude, high personal integrity and proven ability to influence at all organisational levels.
