Senior Project Manager – Water & Wastewater Engineering

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead design and delivery of greenfield and brownfield water and wastewater treatment projects for a leading engineering contractor in Dublin. The role reports to the Technical Director and oversees a team of project managers and engineers on projects up to €40 million.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a multidisciplinary project team, including design staff, engineers and support personnel.
• Report progress to clients and maintain comprehensive programme tracking.
• Support the Technical Director in achieving contract objectives and client goals.
• Oversee daily hour allocation and resource planning across the project team.
• Provide commercial and technical guidance to design teams.
• Maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships from kickoff to close‑out.
• Proactively resolve performance, scope, cost and schedule issues.
• Develop detailed programme schedules and resource‑loaded plans for design and contract administration.
• Ensure health, safety, quality and environmental standards are consistently applied.

Required profile

• Post‑graduate degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
• Project Management qualification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
• Minimum 5 years of industry experience, preferably in civil, water or wastewater sectors.
• Experience with contracting, site supervision and design delivery.
• Strong knowledge of water and wastewater design and operational processes.
• Familiarity with contract frameworks such as FIDIC, NEC and Public Works.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Project or Primavera scheduling software.
• Competence with BIM modelling tools.
• Estimating experience for large‑scale engineering projects.
• Ability to develop and manage resource‑loaded schedules.
