Technical Director – AI-Enabled Digital Transformation (Remote, Ireland)

About the role

We are seeking a senior Technical Director to lead enterprise‑scale transformation programmes across cloud, AI‑enabled software delivery, and modern engineering. This high‑impact role combines strategic advisory work with hands‑on delivery leadership, operating both in boardrooms and engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Advise CIOs, CTOs and senior enterprise stakeholders on technology strategy.
• Lead technical strategy across multiple large‑scale accounts.
• Drive delivery excellence for distributed engineering teams.
• Support presales, discovery workshops and solution design.
• Mentor Technical Leads and shape engineering capability.
• Help organisations modernise through AI‑native delivery practices.

Required profile

• 15+ years of technical leadership experience in consulting, SaaS or large‑scale digital transformation.
• Deep expertise in software architecture, cloud platforms and modern engineering practices.
• Proven track record leading complex, high‑impact technical programmes.
• Strong experience in presales, discovery workshops and solution design.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to senior non‑technical stakeholders.
• Consultative mindset with strong commercial awareness.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Hands‑on understanding of AI‑enabled engineering, distributed systems, databases and modern SDLC practices.
• Experience mentoring and leading senior engineering teams.
• Passion for innovation, continuous learning and engineering excellence.
