Staff Data Scientist – Remote

About the role

Quora is seeking a Staff Data Scientist to join its data team and work on the Quora product. The role is fully remote and involves collaborating with product managers, designers, engineers, and other partners to drive data‑informed decisions across the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Own ambiguous, high‑impact problem spaces across product and business domains, from framing questions to delivering solutions.
• Design and run randomized controlled experiments to evaluate product changes.
• Develop metrics, visualizations, and analytical frameworks that uncover usage patterns and growth opportunities.
• Work on projects such as long‑term growth modeling, homepage feed personalization, user engagement analysis, marketplace efficiency, and monetization effectiveness.

Required profile

• Strong background in data science, statistics, and experimental design.
• Experience collaborating with cross‑functional teams to translate business problems into analytical solutions.
• Ability to handle ambiguous problems and deliver rigorous, pragmatic insights.
