General Maintenance Operative

About the role

Aramark is seeking a reliable General Maintenance Operative to support day‑to‑day maintenance at our client site in Oberstown, Lusk. The role ensures the building and grounds remain safe, functional and well‑maintained.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections and carry out repairs to keep the facility in good working order.
• Follow daily, weekly and monthly maintenance checklists for building systems and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair fixtures, fittings, doors, windows and minor appliances.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
• Support safe use of tools, equipment and materials in line with Aramark safety policies.
• Undertake additional duties as assigned by the manager.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a maintenance or facilities role (preferred).
• Strong understanding of safety protocols and ability to work safely in physically demanding conditions.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Comfortable with manual handling tasks such as carrying, lifting, pulling or pushing.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Team player who can also work independently.
• Commitment to high health & safety standards.
• Full, clean driving licence.
• Garda vetting will be required.

Required skills

• Basic IT skills to operate the maintenance management system.
