Civils Foreperson – Wastewater & Utilities Project

About the role

Farrans is seeking an experienced Civils Foreperson to lead a wastewater and utilities project in North Dublin. You will supervise multi‑disciplinary crews, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure safe, on‑time delivery of works.

Key responsibilities

• Day‑to‑day supervision of civils and utilities crews.
• Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers to maintain productivity.
• Drive programme delivery while adhering to QA procedures and safety standards.
• Manage permits, inspections, daily records, and reporting.
• Liaise with engineers, site management, and client representatives.
• Support temporary works implementation and safe systems of work.

Required profile

• Based along the Newry–Dublin corridor (preferred).
• Strong background in wastewater/utilities schemes, ideally Uisce Éireann projects.
• 8–15+ years of civils experience.
• Proven experience managing multiple subcontractor crews.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Comfortable working within a larger project delivery team.

Required skills

• PE pipelaying on live/public roads with traffic management.
• Chamber construction on live/public roads with traffic management.
• Ductile iron pipelaying within live WWTP sites.
• Horizontal directional drilling (HDD) on minor roads with traffic management.
• Utilities coordination and reinstatement.
• Road‑based works interface with traffic management.
• Reinforced concrete works within WWTP sites.
• Temporary works for utilities and wastewater projects.
• Permit systems and safety documentation.
• QA documentation and inspections.
