Accountant

About the role

This role offers the chance to join a global multinational and work closely with the Finance Manager and European Financial Controller. You will gain hands‑on experience across the full finance function for multiple European legal entities in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close processes for European entities.
• Prepare and post general ledger entries and manage accruals, pre‑payments and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Handle employee expenses, cash management, monthly payroll and cash flow activities.
• Prepare and submit required government returns.
• Support interim and year‑end audit activities, including audit file preparation and acting as the primary audit contact.
• Produce statutory financial reports, profit & loss statements and other management reports.
• Identify and implement continuous improvements to finance processes and controls.
• Provide functional advice, training and ad‑hoc analysis for the finance team.

Required profile

• Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to interpret and explain financial performance.
• Excellent attention to detail and an “audit‑ready” mindset.
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.

Required skills

• SAP experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Hands‑on experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting.
