Acute Care Staff Nurse – Flexible Shifts

About the role

Emerald Nursing is seeking experienced Registered General Nurses (RGNs) to work in acute care settings across Cork. You will be placed in a variety of respected private hospitals, HSE teaching hospitals, specialist centres and leading care groups, with full control over your diary and shift preferences.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality nursing care to acute patients in cardiac, oncology, orthopaedic and other specialist wards.
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs and respond to clinical changes promptly.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective patient pathways.
• Maintain accurate patient records and adhere to hospital policies and infection‑control standards.

Required profile

• Active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) as an RGN.
• Minimum six months of recent clinical experience within the Irish healthcare system (acute hospital, community or specialist setting).
• Strong clinical references and eligibility to work in Ireland.
• Up‑to‑date mandatory training, Garda vetting and occupational health clearance (arranged by Emerald Nursing).

Required skills

• Proficiency in acute care nursing procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent clinical assessment and documentation skills.
