Adult Guidance Information Officer

About the role

The Adult Guidance Information Officer will join the Adult Education Guidance Services in Carlow, providing specialist advice and support to adult learners navigating further education and training pathways. This fixed‑term position is designed to cover a career break and offers a 35‑hour work week.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver accurate, up‑to‑date information on courses, funding options and entry requirements to adult learners.
• Assist individuals in developing personalised learning plans and career pathways.
• Maintain and update guidance resources, both printed and digital.
• Collaborate with local education providers, employers and community organisations to enhance service delivery.
• Monitor and report on usage of guidance services and outcomes for continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification or experience in adult education, guidance, counselling or a related field.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to engage a diverse adult audience.
• Excellent organisational abilities and attention to detail.
• Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion in line with ETB policies.
