Advanced Nurse Practitioner – CAMHS ED Liaison

About the role

The Advanced Nurse Practitioner (cANP) role is central to delivering high‑quality, recovery‑oriented care for children and adolescents experiencing mental health crises. Working within the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) ED Liaison team, the post holder will assess individuals, provide appropriate treatment, and help reduce the need for acute hospitalisation.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development of a comprehensive CAMHS Liaison service to improve support for young people and their families.
• Implement the CAMHS Liaison service in line with best practice and standardised operating procedures.
• Develop protocols that ensure equitable service provision for all children and young people using the service.
• Provide assessment and deliver recovery‑oriented interventions aimed at reducing the need for acute hospitalisation.
• Maintain a responsive approach to mental health crises and ensure strong links with Community CAMHS Teams and the CAMHS Hub team.

Required profile

• Qualified Advanced Nurse Practitioner (candidate status acceptable).
• Experience working within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services or related mental health settings.
• Ability to develop and implement service protocols and standard operating procedures.
• Commitment to delivering high‑quality, team‑based, integrated care for young people.
